Welcome

Thanks for visiting Repurposed. This blog is about a house we are moving out of, an old house we are rehabing, a family that is walking in faith, a marriage that presses on, and the journey that God is taking us on. A repurposed life...turning the ashes into beauty.

"Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." I'm still here

Hello friends!  It has been sooo long that I wondered if anyone was still following me.  I have been in a bit of a metamorphosis, if you will.  I feel like a butterfly that has been in a cacoon for three months.  These last few months have been challenging for me.  The move was incredibly difficult on me emotionally.  I can truly say that it was the Lord who carried me through the pain of leaving a place that I spent 12 years building.  What I didn't expect was Ethan's sudden breakdown on the last day when he said for the first time that he did not want to leave.  Our children's pain is always harder to bear than our own. This is the song that I listened to as I drove out of the driveway for the last time.  I know that God was leading me into a new journey, taking me gently out of the place that I had always said I wanted to die at.  Trusting God is not always easy, but it always is the right thing to do.  As our Father, He always knows best.  So here's the link to the song that carried me through the first steps of my journey:

I hope you like it as much as I do.  It has become one of my favorites.

The Blessings:

The boys now have neighborhood friends.  At our old house we were so secluded that even if there were any kids in the neighborhood, they wouldn't have been able to go out and meet them because there were no sidewalks and the street was very busy.  The boys now have friends that come over to play.  They play every free moment that they have.  Summer has been filled with riding bikes, scooters, hiking and (my least favorite) air softing.  We live by a beautiful canyon that is a favorite for bicilcling and running.  It is also the best place for young Rambos to create the ultimate battle field.  New words are being introduced like bunkers, camoflauge, and so on.  I'm not a fan of weapons, but I've been told to step back and let them be boys....  When the day is over and the sweat marks have left their trails on the dirt filled faces, I know it was a boys summer dream day- and that makes me very happy.  The new-found friendship has wiped any thought of wanting to go back to the old house.  They would not trade houses for anything, not even a pool.

Blessings to you all on this warm summer day.  I promise to post more often now that I have left the chrysalis.....
